If I’m not on the road, I turn into an “armchair traveller” and head over to the nearest video store (i.e.download films) to vicariously experience a world away from home.
An aspect of films that gets me itching to strap my travelin’ boots on are those that takes you through a city or a country, wherein the location plays a leading role. From the streets of Berlin and New York to the complex culture of China and the United States, I would like to add:

“Old Boy? meh. You can do better than that. That movie was made specifically for a Western audience, and not as big a hot in Korea as “Memories of Murder” for example.
here are some great Korean movies for ya:
“Memories of Murder” – probably THE best Korean movies ever made
“3-iron”
“Oasis”
“Brotherood”
“Joint Security Area”
“The Way Home” the old lady was not an actress!
Personally, I liked “Art Museum By The Zoo” but that’s a fluffy comedy.
China:
How could you miss “The King of Masks”???
And when it comes to contemporary Taiwan, then definitely
“Yi-Yi”.
And I think that “The Spanish Apartment” is the quintessential Barcelona movie.
OK, I shut up now. I used to work for a film festival
